title: daydream with the clouds (part 1) author: hidoko Matsumoto genre: ^^;definitely AU, crossover. comments: I'm procrastinating from the brochure work which I'm supposed to do for my aunt's shop... And I _really_ wonder, like all girls, why don't boys know the meaning of 'friendship' without going into 'relationship'? Feh. Anyway...^^; Comments please. This is very much inspired by Stardust.(at least the beginning of it^^;)..and... for once, I actually include jrockers whom I dont like. and there's one or two puns regarding certain issues.^^; Not that this fic is funny so far. Up across the hill yonder, if you wander, you will find Faerie land. Back in the older days, the Roland land isn't as it is today. You see, Old father Roland owned that piece of land, and he had a daughter by the name of Kamijo. Kamijo was married to Tetsu, to whom the land was handed over. Roland hadn't meant it to be that way, until the land was dispersed into bits and pieces amongst Kamijo's little gambling sprees. Soon, it was taken over, and at one period of time, a market came to the borders of the Roland county. Now, since poor Tetsu had to support the family and with much failure, he thought he would go down, and find a good deal. Let me describe Tetsu to you. This was a mighty fine young lad, with the brightest of eyes and the most charming of smiles amongst people his age. Had his parents not made an oath towards the Rolands, he would have gone for the town's famous beauty, Ken. He was fillial, yes he was, so he carried out his parents' wishes, and married Kamijo. So it was rumored, Kamijo and Tetsu's marriage was not a happy one. Kamijo loved money and fame, but Tetsu simply wanted a quiet life with his beloved. Tetsu had to deal with Kamijo's whims every day, and they had no children. Across the village, Ken was married to Kiyoharu, and she gave birth to a lovely child named Gackt, who was a fine young chap indeed. Occasionally, Tetsu would meet with young Gackt, who saw him as a respectable figure, and clung to him. Thus, on the way to the market, Tetsu met Ken, and she put Gackt under Tetsu's care, and requested for Tetsu to bring Gackt home before the sun set. So, Tetsu took Gackt to the fair. At the fair, Tetsu hadn't met anything to his expectations, but young Gackt was fascinated. When Tetsu was looking at some sickly-looking horses, Gackt had wandered away, to look at the lovely parrots which a redhaired traveller had. "Hey, come here, little kid." Gackt obediently did so, his eyes wide and lips slightly apart. "...Do they bite?" "No, but they talk," Said the friendly traveller. "I'm Die, and this parrot is named Kyo." "Wow. Will they do some talking to me?" Die looked at Kyo, and the parrot started flapping its wings, croaking, "Yonder the hill! Yonder the hill! A wondrous fair! Yonder the hill!" "Yonder the hill?" Gackt questioned. "Oh, we travel, you see. Yonder hill, there was a fair of the people from Faerie land." Die explained. "they have the most wondrous things anyone could indulge themselves in." "Gackt!!" Poor Tetsu came stumbling in at this moment, looking tired and flustered. "So you were here all along?" "Will we go yonder the hill, Uncle Tetsu?" Gackt's large eyes shone with excitement and hope. "Yonder the hill, down by the county, there's a fair more wondrous than what we have here." "We shan't go there, worthy Gackt, for it's getting dark," Tetsu explained, as he took hold of the little child's hand. "You won't want to go there either," cut in the traveller, "For they barter with things you do not expect to trade." "But......." "It's late, Gackt." Gackt's large eyes welled up and his lower lip began to tremble. "All right, I'll bring you tomorrow." Tetsu promised earnestly. "Come on, your mother is expecting you." The boy's face lit up with glee as he jumped about and did a little horribly embarassingly spastic dance (hey, he's just a kid. 400-year old kids do not do dances well.), and then he let Tetsu lead him away from the fair, back into the safety of his home. -to be continued- Comments are welcome.^^ -matsumoto http://xz0ne.cjb.net voidmatsumoto@yahoo.co.uk
