Just put on my uniform today,
happy as a cookie.
Thinking I've stepped from
the ancient regime
to newage democracy.
Where I have a right,
despite certain restrictions
To be happy without respite
so long as there're no repercussions.

But I should have known.
The brown of uniform
does not represent democracy.
It just means "Be Conservative".
Hear what it says!
For it says, "Conform!
You're just a student!
Mere number in thousands."

Caught in the middle,
defeated, dejected and beaten
Lost without a logic of reason.
Having been admitted
into an institution,
thinking it utopian.
But reality was forced upon!
Hitting the ground
impact radiating through
Me! And me alone!

There would have been reason.
Had I hurt someone,
had I destroyed property,
or participated in treason.
But I've done naught.
How many years have I but fought?
To get out of that regime
trying to get into yet another,
only to discover that
there is none other!
