The shop windows of Valentine's told her she did not
belong
She shook her head with all her tears in her heart
and turned away
She stood all alone on a path that was ready to begin
A tearful heart was in her way so she smiled and shattered
it.
The lonely cat sitting on a lonely street beckoned
to her
She stood in compassion and asked, "Are you waiting
for you love?"
The grayness of the streets stretched far into her
entrancing world
The tearful heart was out of her way so she smiled
and walked on.
She knew that Valentine's would be nearing
She knew she would be lonely anyway
She loved a boy who saw through her like glass
She knew she meant nothing, and would be naught
She stabbed him with a solitary rose
Yet she loved him for all he never knew
She was left bleeding to death with a love
And a rose of pain which he left her.
The crowded streets and smiling couple illustrated
pain in her
She closed her eyes and told herself "I don't need
anyone"
She tried to forget the world but could not without
his presence
She stopped and picked up a piece of her heart that
was on the way.
She knew that Valentine's would be nearing
She knew she would be lonely anyway
She loved a boy who saw through her like glass
She knew she meant nothing, and would be naught
She stabbed him with a solitary rose
Yet she loved him for all he never knew
She felt broken with love but he had never known
She stood alone holding the rose of pain.
"It's Valentine's…. Ah, it's Valentines…. So what?"
