Notes: This is Yaoi-hinting, and... Toons are SD creatures here. A bit like fairies. Just that fairies are not SD.

Once upon a time in a town by the name of Tristram, which was magical, quaint and little, there was a flower shop with the name X Japan. The flower shop was homely, with a wide variety of flowers for people to choose from. The flowers were magical and thus would not wilt. Many people, young and old, boys and girls, gays and lesbians, loved to come in to buy flowers for they bloomed exquisitely well.

In the bushes of the red roses of X Japan,  there lived a little toon named Yoshiki. He was very beautiful, delicate but strong, and hid away in the roses. One day, he was in the mood to get up and about. He began running around X Japan, looking at the flowers. Suddenly he came by a bunch of black roses. A rose had not bloomed yet despite the others and Yoshiki cocked his head and studied the rose.

Suddenly, the large (to the fathead's standard) petals began to unwrap themselves and a toon, like himself, complete with fairy wings and all, stretched and yawned. Yoshiki found himself staring into large red eyes framed with pink hair and a fat fat face like his. He gasped, and blinked furiously, which was cute for his fat face and large eyes.

"Mornin'," The toon smiled and greeted him with a wave of his hands. "You must be another toon! I'm the toon of the black roses, hide."

Yoshiki found himself blushing at the other toon's innocent loopsided grin. "I am Yoshiki, the toon of the red roses."

hide smiled and shook Yoshiki's hand. "What are you doing so early in the morning?"

Yoshiki sheepishly replied, "I was trying to see if I could stop sleeping for ten days... Today is my third day."

"Whew!" hide whistles. "You have a hell of an ambition there, dude. No wonder your eyes resemble the panda's."

Yoshiki sighed. "I had slept for a month before, and it's a wonder I actually woke up."

hide laughed. "What a toon! Come on, let's play for a little while.

Yoshiki nodded and they settled down for a game of hide-and-seek among the roses. Finally, Yoshiki got bored of looking for hide and hide got bored of successfully hiding from Yoshiki, so they decided to explore X Japan a bit to see if there were any other toons.

They stopped by the lilies and hide shouted all the time, his kawaii voice making Yoshiki die of laughter.

A quiet looking toon popped out and punched hide in the fat face. "Shut up," he told him. Then, he realised that Yoshiki was there and fell off balance onto hide.

Poor hide yelped in pain as Yoshiki laughed and laughed. "Sorry if we offended you," he choked out, "But hide and I were trying to see if there was any other toons living around. What's your name?"

The toon got up, untangling from hide's fat limbs and long hair. "I... I am... Toshi." He managed to say in between breath breaks.

hide was still in the "@_@" state, so Yoshiki helped him up, and Toshi helped Yoshiki to help him up. They got into a lily house and lay hide down on Toshi's clean white sheets. Yoshiki began trying to get Toshi to talk, and finally succeeded as hide woke up. Yoshiki invited Toshi (after begging with hide) on their tour to find other toons, and Toshi gladly agreed.

They walked about a little while, and settled down at a bougainvilla forest. "I'm getting hungry," Yoshiki said.

"Wait here, and I'll get some honey for you," hide immediately volunteered.

Yoshiki smiled graciously at him, and said, "Since you're going, why not get some for Toshi?"

hide unwillingly agreed, and, mumble grumble mumble, grumble mumble grumble, gathered a few flowers which were full of honey. Suddenly, a strange bolt of light flashed at him and hide yelped as it scorched his shoulder. Dropping the flowers, he turned and saw a toon with yet another flash. hide decided to dodge that one too. The curly-haired toon with a roundish face and putty lips hurled some more in another flash and hide had hardly gotten his weapon out. He had not fought for a long time and was getting rusty. With a flash he summoned the darkness, in contrast to the other toon's light, which was his power, and hurled the unmaterialistic ball at the toon. As they fought and fought, both sides getting hurt, Yoshiki had came along to look for hide.

"Stop!" Yoshiki yelled at both of them. "Quit fighting!!"

hide did not stop, mainly because the round faced toon did not. They fought and fought, and Yoshiki decided to help hide, summoning blood and the blood formed a phantom to devour the round-faced toon. The phantom and the toon struggled for a while, before the toon finally collasped behind the blood of nothingness.

When the round-faced toon woke up, it was already late afternoon. They were all quite exhausted, and Yoshiki was in fact already asleep. The round-faced toon immediately got ready to fire another bolt, but hide promptly sat on top of his fathead and so the toon struggled a bit before promising not to fire another one at them. hide agreed, and this toon was indeed a noble toon. hide began talking to him, and Toshi went to wake Yoshiki up.

Just as hide knew that the roundish toon was named Pata, Toshi came back with a black eye. hide began laughing and so far it did not help with their relationship.

"I'll go wake him up," He told Toshi and Pata, and set off to the perilous (?!) quest.

"Hya!!" hide's merry voice chirped its way into Yoshiki's mind as he roamed about the rose bushes in an airy state. A very LOUD yelp was heard, coming from himself, when hide pried his eye open. Immediately his natural reaction exploded like a bomb and his small fists shot out blindly. hide caught his fists promptly and silenced Yoshiki with a kiss (big wonder his fathead didnt drop off as he lowered it... ^^;;;). Yoshiki finally pushed him off, finding himself a bit awed and actually having enjoyed it a bit too much, and went off in a daze to meet Pata.

Pata introduced himself as the toon of the bougainvillas and introduced the others to the fairies which lived with him. He was the only one so far who did not live alone. He had wanted some adventure, finding things a bit too quite but still enjoyed the quietness, so he said goodbye to them and went along with Yoshiki, hide, and Toshi.

It was finally sunset when they came to stop by some big red flowers which looked like plastics. hide stretched and told the rest that he would just so conveniently take a nap, and so they stopped for a rest, Yoshiki still having not gotten over the waking up incident. So far, not any of the toons, not even Yoshiki himself, knew that hide was actually the one to break the record and not go off safely without a sore part.

Yoshiki found some butterflies, and played with them. Pata wandered off somewhere to find some sort of nectar which contained alchohol and Toshi was left with nothing to do, other than the granted look of the beautiful face of sleeping hide which only made him want to punch. So he sat there, miserable, and began to sing the theme of the Loony Tune. Yoshiki, who was sitting on a butterfly, heard it and swooped down graciously on the butterfly to ask Toshi where he learnt to sing like that.

"Well..." Toshi said with a small sheepish cat-like grin, "I don't know, I just sing."

Yoshiki's face lighted up so much he could have matched a hundred watts bulb. "Hey, I wrote some songs, and I think they will definitely kick ass if you sing it, pleeeaaase?"

Toshi immediately lost himself in Yoshiki's big shining eyes and agreed like a tranced zombie.

Yoshiki happily tossed him "Kurenai" and Toshi began to sing. Yoshiki began banging on a piece of folded leaf, and that chaos woke hide up. hide, a natural, decided to join in and looked about, wondering just what to do. He took a string which he found coming off the owner of X Japan's woollen sweater, and attached it to a flower stalk. He began to rock, too, and just as they were all laughing and chatting happily, Pata came back with another fellow toon.

"Hi~ this is Heath, he wants some adventure too so I guess he could come along, ne?" Pata asked, voice slurred, then, nodding before anyone said anything, began drinking again. hide poked his nosey nose near him and asked whether he found any sake, which he had occasionally borrowed from the owner's bottle especially near New Year. They began drinking and wrecked all the flowers nearby.

When they woke up, minds blur and stomachs overturned, they found a very angry elf frowning at them.

"Hey, you silly toons, your jobs are to keep the flowers of X Japan in good shape! Now what have you done!" The elf ranted on for god-knows-how-long and Yoshiki, irritated by the early morning chaos, lost his temper and sent the elf flying over to pluto. It was not long before many many elves came and took them to a cage, where the canary lived in, and locked them in. The fairies all heard of the angry elves and came to beg them to let the toons go, but no, they did not agree.

Dispair came over the toons as they took caged paces in the cage, occasionally hiding in the canary's feathers for warmth. The cold north wind blew in from there; normally they would be safe in the flowerbeds.

hide was so angry that he decided to attack the elves, though the elves were of authority in X Japan. So, the he began to try to unpick the lock of the canary's cage, to set them all to freedom, and succeeded, finally, when he moved Yoshiki early in the morning near the lock.

So, they were free, though small matters were concerned, like Toshi not liking hide's way of waking Yoshiki up. They began to climb out of the cage, and the canary looked at them longingly, so they agreed to take it along, for it was as kind as to let them hide in its feathers from the cold. They were going to be outcast, from the rest of the folks, but who cared, they had to live for themselves and not, never again, everyone else.

Thus, began the adventures of the toons of X Japan.
