Those beautiful slim fingers trailed down the curves of that pale skin, as tears slipped down those cheeks.

/I felt something coming. I felt his fear. I should have known.../

"I'm really sorry, hyde..." That pure voice whispered, a voice as pure as his own heart. "I never came to your rescue. I didn't warn myself about it, I didn't..."

That sleeping face was so beautiful, too beautiful. tetsu buried his face into that chest, and tears ran down, soaking through the cotton fabric which tetsu had changed on for hyde earlier.

あなたの罪なら私が罰を受けよう
誰かを殺めてほしければ殺めよう

Yuki's eyebrows furrowed as he gazed at the sea, his thoughts deep and dark.

/Levin's losing his touch. He wouldn't have done that for anyone, not before. Especially not to my preys, not to me, the prince of the sea./

Then in his mind's eyes flashed Sakura's image, and he remebered that black mane of flowing hair which shone under the moonlight.

And how beautiful he had seemed when blended into the darkness, which had been his home.

Suddenly, he scoffed at himself. /I know I won't do that./ and he meant it; in truth, he would treasure the one whom he loved, then slowly own it, then...

...kill it.

sakura's eyes were fixed on the couple inside the room, and he put his hand onto tetsu's head, patting him gently, almost rhythmically.

"I told you to come with me," He murmured, painfully. "You'd have gone through so much happier."

"........." Tetsu's eyes lifted, his long eyelashes spiky and wet from the tears. "....It was my fault. I should have...I should have........" His voice cracked, but he only looked away, onto Hyde's face.

inside, sakura knew what he was thinking.

"It's not your fault, tetsu..."

Gently his fingers trailed down from tetsu's hair to his cheek, and he gazed into those warm brown eyes deeply.

"I'll kill Levin for you."

"....what...!"

"I said, I'll kill levin for you," Sakura laughed, and raised an eyebrow. "he caused that to happen to your beloved, didn't he?"

"...no..." Tetsu's vision wavered, and suddenly he didn't know if what he heard was right.

"...Don't worry, tetsu... My hands are already stained by sins, it can't be stained any further..." gently,he brushed away those strayed strands which fell onto tetsu's forehead, obscuring those eyes, and he pressed his lips against tetsu's forehead.

あなたがもしもナイフを差し出せば
私は惜し気なく血を流すだろう

/I'll kill levin for you./

yuki smiled, as something echoed in his mind.

/good, I can get rid of levin now.../

He cupped his chin wistfully, as he glanced at the sea one last time.

"I grew up the way you want me to, mother." He smiled. "You'd be proud of me...."

His eyelids lowered as he stepped away, the wind whipping his hair behind him, as he looked up at the sky which towered above.

"because I won't die for anyone, anyone at all. Not even you, mother, because I don't need you."

Tetsu's eyes were misted over, and gently his head rested against hyde's chest again.

he felt so tired.....

so tired, that it was gradually draining him.

/...it hurts so much to be at pace with your feelings, hyde..../

その匂いはせつなく郷愁を呼び起こし
ああ蛇を想わすその肌に触れて

he didn't know what filled his mind when he dreamt that dream.

inside, he was screaming.

and he was being torn apart.

and he was...........

violated, inside and outside.

in that dream........ ...... ...

When he woke up, he saw beautiful red hair.

and that was the first thing he saw, like a fire.

looking at that fire, he suddenly thought he knew why he was living- something, something within him was burning. something that resembled that beautiful red hair.

He sifted his fingers through those locks, wishing that he could disappaer in that warmness right then. Then he noticed the warm liquid on his shirt.

for a moment, he was scared, scared if it was something red.....

then, he saw that tetsu was breathing, languidly.

and he felt reassured,even though he couldn't comprehand something which gripped his heart in an iron lock.

たとえばあなたの目が見えなくなれば
私が目となり一生そばに居られるのに

"I think they'd appreciate the honey you've gotten, Levin," die said cheerfully, as he lifted the bag from his cousin's arms.

"I heard it has healing powers," Levin grinned. Then, a look crept over his face, and it seemed glum. "I hope they'll forgive me."

"I'm sure they know it's not your fault, Levinchan" Die slammed the car door shut, and waited for levin to open the door. "I hope they like chocolates like yukki does."

Levin nodded, and the key turned.

/you're so beautiful, die, and so bright./

he knew when die wasn't looking at him, and he allowed himself to brood. for a moment.

/but because you're so bright, you can't see anything. while I who am here.../

/I'll protect you, diekun./

/once this is all over, i'll be with you. i can't leave yukihiro right now, but when it's over, i'll be free.../

something pulsated, and it wasn't fear.

for once.

the Star lifted his head, and wa surprised to see beautiful eyes reflecting his own image.

"arigatou, tetchan....." a deep liquid voice seeped into his senses,and immediately he was entranced.

".....nan....ni..."

"...ee, wakatta ne. kimi to atta wa boku no unmei dane... kono mune ga, aishiteiru..zutto... .." strong arms encircled around him, and pulled him closer. warm lips enclosed on his own, and he almost melted into that kiss.......

その肌を感じ眠れたならどんなに・・・どんなに

gentility, warmth, fingertips...

heat, tears, love, pain....

it flooded in, and out, as the sunlight shone embracingly over the clothes which had been shedded onto the floor, and onto the beautifully writhing figures on the white sheets.

when it faded, into a hazy blackness called sleep, only one thing remained, and it hadn't even been love.

it had been just existence, both their existence, both their fates intertwined together, warmly.. ... . .
